MUSIC
At the heart of EU Advent is the music that has made European Square
recognisable for years. This year’s 40-day line-up is curated by
Marijan Felver, with a new stage facing Vlaška Street
and the atmosphere of an open-air club in the middle of the city.
We open Advent on 29 November with Ljetno kino, a band
that brings summer vibes into the middle of winter. Christmas Eve
belongs to Alka Vuica and the songs she wrote for others,
while New Year’s Eve is led by the legendary
The Brand New Heavies – a world-class acid jazz and funk institution.
The programme gets extra depth with regional sensation Zoster (06.12)
and a live set by Berlin dark disco and new wave champion Curses (12.12) –
nights that feel like full-scale concerts you do not want to miss.
When Yammat FM moves its central DJ booth to the square, their airwaves
turn into a dancefloor – with their best-known shows, hosts and editors.
The traditionally packed MoJo Sound System by Ivona Kovačević returns on 19.12,
while weekday groove is powered by Martina Vazdar, Ben Colgan, Antonio Zuza,
Elena Mikac, Vitamin Disco, Felver, Alen S, Fuki, Glazbena kuhinja and others.
A special part of the programme pays tribute to the legendary Zagreb night
Blackout, with Bizzo behind the decks and cult club programmes.

FOOD
If Advent for you isn’t complete without something tasty in your hand,
there is only one place you need to hit this year – EU Advent on European Square.
And not just once, but several times.
You’ll find more than 50 completely different dishes across
18 food stalls, with no two stalls serving the same thing.
From Istrian specialities and burgers to fritters, croissants, hot dogs,
panini and dessert “show moments” made to end up on your feed.
Highlights include Ice House with creative hot drinks,
Ice puffs dessert in liquid nitrogen and Ice Smoke cocktails, then
Buffalo & BBQ with pizza from a real pizza oven – especially
the truffle pizza Motovunska šuma – plus the Leberkäse Burger
and German sausages at Ausländer.
On top of the regular offer, 16 chefs and influencers step into
the Diners Club Cooking Duels “Stars Cook” – you taste two dishes,
cheer for your team and support the work of the Budi dobro association.
This is Advent for curious taste buds.

KIDS PROGRAMME
Every Sunday, EU Square turns into a place where kids are the main stars.
Theatre LOFT brings shows that spark imagination and smiles:
The Nutcracker and the Little Mouse, Elves’ Tales,
The Pearl Diver and other magical titles.
With music, characters, games and lots of laughter, European Square
becomes a true little Advent fairy-tale for the whole family.

SUSTAINABILITY & HUMANITY
This year, EU Advent goes one step further, because the holidays are not
just about good fun – they’re about care, too.
We’re introducing reusable cups to reduce waste and take care of
our shared space. The square stays clean, and you get a little souvenir
to take home.
Three Advent Thursdays and one Tuesday gain a special humanitarian note
thanks to the cooking show “Stars Cook”: well-known chefs, influencers
and public figures cook festive dishes, and all proceeds from those
meals are donated to the Budi dobro association, which supports
people with cancer and their families.
This is Advent with a heart – not just a strong line-up.
